Potential Work Stoppage May Impact Campus Deliveries | November 2024

On November 1, Mail, Document & Distribution Services (MDDS) sent the below communication to all UCLA employees.

UCLA Employee & Labor Relations has informed us of a potential work stoppage in early- to mid-November 2024. This may affect delivery services, as drivers for companies like UPS, FedEx and Amazon may choose not to cross picket lines. To mitigate any disruptions, we encourage all departments to implement their continuity plans and stock up on essential supplies immediately.

UCLA will share additional details about other potential impacts. Learn more about union representation at UC and active union negotiations.

Service Adjustments

Mail Services (Strathmore Building), CHS Receiving (A-Level loading dock) and Cylinder Management (CHS A3-291) will remain open during regular business hours but with reduced staffing. Please pre-order essential items to avoid delays. Limit orders during the job action, as deliveries may be delayed, and only urgent inbound items may be available for pickup.
