Asset Management System (AMS)

What is AMS?

The Asset Management System (AMS) tracks all equipment, and facilitates equipment status changes and equipment inventory-taking online.

Equipment custodians use the AMS to manage department inventorial equipment online. If you are an equipment custodian, you can use AMS to:
  • Make changes to your inventorial equipment list.
  • Perform transactions such as disposals, transfers, and loans.
  • Search for inventorial equipment by asset number, serial number, building/ room number, the user’s name or many other attributes.
  • Find out who retains title to inventorial equipment.
  • Generate inventory reports as needed.

What are the benefits of using AMS on the Web?

  • Significantly reduced paper processing.
  • On-demand inventory.
  • Inventory data and reports downloadable to excel.
  • Attaching documents and pics to assets and transactions.
  • Email notifications.

When should I use the AMS?

Use AMS to track inventorial equipment only. If you are unsure whether your equipment qualifies as inventorial, see "What is Inventorial Equipment."

How can I get access to AMS on the Web?

If you are a designated equipment custodian or an alternate, you can request access to EQM on the web by using the Logon Request Form.
