The following communication was sent on May 24 to BruinBuy Plus users, CAOs, CFOs, PCardholders, and PCard approvers.
Supplier deliveries and outgoing shipments via third-party carriers and/or supplier proprietary fleets may be disrupted during the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike.
What Does This Mean?
UPS has announced they will decline to cross the picket line. If you leverage UPS for time-sensitive and/or cold chain deliveries, the UC community recommends temporarily moving to FedEx.
If you expect to receive UPS-delivered packages or cannot use another carrier for outbound shipments, please follow the below guidance:
- During a strike, UPS packages can be tracked on the UPS website.
- If an urgent item needs to be picked up directly from UPS, call UPS’ Beverly Center station at (213) 612-1847.
- Inbound deliveries to the Center for Health Sciences (CHS) should be unaffected with minimal delay.
- Outbound shipments can be dropped off at the Westwood Village UPS Store (the last UPS Air pickup is 5 p.m.).
